Pay tolls automatically from the mobile phone

California's The Transportation Corridor Agencies (TCA) are launching a free app for iPhone and Android that enables FasTrak accountholders to access and manage their Toll Roads' account via mobile phone (view press release). The solution, claims the TCA, is the first of its kind in the US. FasTrak is a prepaid electronic toll system that enables drivers to pay tolls automatically while driving through designated lanes and is the only electronic toll payment system in California. The new app gives FasTrak account holders access to their accounts wirelessly from their smartphones and enables them to carry out functions such as view account balance and make payments, edit account information, add or remove vehicles, view and request transponders and plan a trip on The Toll Roads (the largest network of toll roads in California).
